HostRocket Web Hosting
HostRocket Overview
HostRocket is another host that has stood the test-of-time because they have been in business now since 1999. It's unknown as to the number of clients the company currently serves -- as they have not gone public with this information. One thing for sure is that they have been a stable company for all these years and that their customer base is large. Being a more expensive host (when compared to the other cheap web hosting companies I have reviewed), HostRocket offers more bandwidth for your buck. This is because any unused bandwidth is "rolled over" from month to month.
HostRocket Cost of Hosting
HostRocket offers 1000 MB of disk space and 40 GB of bandwidth for $11.95 a month. The plan is equipped with support for PHP, MySQL, Sendmail, and more. One highlight about HostRocket is that they offer ten MySQL databases, where most other hosts offer no more than two or three. Host Rocket also offers a 14-day-money-back guarantee.
HostRocket Customer Support
Customer service with HostRocket via e-mail isn't as fast as LunarPages, but for the industry they are still above average considering responses are usually received on the same day. The company also offers a huge support section, which, in fact, they have created an entire site for. HostRocket also offers a toll-free telephone support line.
HostRocket Control Panel
HostRocket currently utilizes their own version of CPanel, which in my opinion, has a very unique design to it and may even prove to make the whole process of managing and configuring a web site easier for the beginner webmaster. The panel allows you to check e-mail, browse web statistics, manage files, and more.
HostRocket Facilities
HostRocket currently operates a data center out of Clifton Park, NY. The company uses Time Warner for its bandwidth. The facility is equipped with a fully redundant power supply and holds more than fifty servers. Like the other hosts I have reviewed, HostRocket does not overload their servers with users. Like LunarPages, HostRocket has also been known to add new servers on a month to month basis.
HostRocket Conclusion
If you're expecting hordes of traffic, HostRocket might be right for you. The company shows consistent uptime, support, and server reliability. They are more expensive than other hosts mainly because of their rollover bandwidth feature. Even though 40 GB is a sufficient amount of bandwidth for most users, depending on the type of site you have, HostRocket may prove to save you a few dollars in the end.
