Interland Overview
Probably one of the oldest companies I have reviewed -- Interland has been around since 1995. Ten entire years of hosting web sites. But don't let quantity of years in business fool you for quality. This company's plans are overpriced for the amount of features that you get (see below), and response times via their interactive chat are generally slow.

Interland Cost of Hosting
For $8.95 a month, Interland offers 200 MB of disk space, 5 GB of bandwidth, 50 POP3 e-mail accounts, and support for FrontPage and PERL. The plan doesn't let you build any pages in PHP or MySQL. Also, the amount of disk space and bandwidth allotted to you is minimal when compared to companies like LunarPages. Interland offers you a free domain name and weekly backups of your site. Even still this package is overpriced for what you get.

Interland Customer Support
Interland offers a support center that is aimed more towards the advanced-level user, however basic questions and answers can be found there as well. Another way that Interland communicates with customers is through interactive chat. The chat basically opens up a new frame on their web site, and is actually very slow based on my own personal experiences with it. E-mail response times are also generally slower than the other companies I have reviewed.

Interland Control Panel
Interland users currently use CPanel to manage the different aspects of their site. This includes creating e-mail accounts, managing databases, disk space management, checking web server logs, and having the option of using different third-party scripts -- such as message boards, chat, and guestbooks.

Interland Facilities
Interland has not gone public about their data center facilities.

Interland Conclusion
Interland is not the best choice in web hosting, due mainly to their overpriced plans, lack of features, and customer support. There is no valid reason to choose Interland as your next hosting provider because there are better choices out there (Return to Listing), that offer cheaper packages with more space, more bandwidth, more features, and timely support.
